Resolution criteria

The winner is the town with the highest percent change in the Zillow Home Value Index (all homes, smoothed, seasonally adjusted, city level) from June 2026 to June 2028. If ZHVI is unavailable for a town, Redfin city-level median sale price (3-month rolling) is the fallback.

Percentage-change math structurally favors cheaper towns, so the mid-2026 baselines matter: Jarrell ~$256K, Elgin ~$275K, Lockhart ~$280K, Taylor ~$285K, Kyle ~$302K, Hutto ~$338K.

How the forecast was made

This forecast was produced with FutureSearch, a research-grade forecasting engine, run at its highest research effort level. It is not an opinion poll and not a single analyst's guess. The process works in four steps:
